My passion lies in never being complacent, never standing in one design spot too long. Keep evolving, keep learning. I love creating – the most perfect design being something which is beautiful and functional. My favourite item of design is Philippe Starks’s iconic (and somewhat controversial*) Juicy Salif, ….. a beautiful, sculptural object in its own right but when you consider that he optimised the functionality, it becomes a complete and perfect design.
When I design something, be it a website or a social media campaign, I think of its function, the task it must perform and then I design the aesthetic round the practical. It will never only be about the look, just as it would definitely never be only about the function.
*(I have heard that he chose form over function and that it does not squeeze fruit as it should – in my personal experience it squeezes just fine thank you.)
